The Constant Family

Our safe place to fall

“Our first experience with RMHC – SK occurred when our second child was born in 2014 with a number of serious medical complications. There was so much going on from moment to moment at the hospital, it was nice not to have to worry about our eldest child who is only three at the time. She absolutely loved being in the house with all the amazing rooms and activities. Despite going from moment to moment with our son. She was playing, laughing and loving without feeling the stress of the situation that we were in.  We were grateful for the kindness of the staff and the location of the house need to the hospital.

The things I remember most about my time at the house are being able to still have supper together as a family. My husband and I took turns staying at the hospital with our son while the other spent time with our daughter, but supper time was when we all met together, to eat together and discuss our day before dividing and conquering once more.

To families who are not familiar with RMHC-SK, I would tell them, please reach out to them if you require their services. They are always willing to assist you and let you know the information that you need. This is a place I didn’t know how much I needed until I did. The connections that we’ve made, the support we’ve gained will forever impacted our family. Over the years we’ve utilized RMHC so many times we are grateful to include them as part of our extended family. Our son is now nine years old and just recently had his third open heart surgery. He is thriving today!”
