The Songer-Huber Family

“Somewhere quiet for my daughter to rest and heal.”

“In 2022 my family needed the Ronald McDonald House not once, but twice.

My daughter had surgery in July 2022 that ended in her having a post op infection and a lot of seizures. Our one or two night stay turned into a couple weeks very quickly. The RMH staff were so amazing – having somewhere quiet for my daughter to rest and heal was amazing.

My 6 month old daughter also stayed with us – RMH provided me with a bed for her and even some diapers when I ran out before I had the chance to go get some more.

My daughter had her second hospitalization in October 2022 and spent her 8th Birthday in Hospital but RMH spoiled her – she tells everyone about it.

“We were given a weekend pass for Halloween and RMH put on the most amazing party and, just for a second, life felt so normal again.”

During both of our stays I was provided meals at the hospital during the week, I had supper saved for me in the fridge, a place to do my laundry, wash baby bottles, bath myself and the baby and just breathe. I spent a lot of time crying and visiting with the staff due to the unknown of my daughter’s condition and I am so thankful to each and every one of them.”
