Hospitality Cart Volunteer

The unique Hospitality Cart, packed with healthy refreshments, comfort items, reading materials etc., travels two days a week to the NICU and other designated areas within the Prince Albert Victoria Hospital.

As a Hospitality Cart Volunteer, you play a significant role in bringing the comfort and support that RMHC-SK has made famous to families outside the Ronald McDonald Family Room. Volunteers will act as an ambassador of RMHC-SK by sharing information with families about programs and services available through RMHC Saskatchewan.

The Hospitality Cart Volunteer is under the direction of the Family Room Manager and other Family Room staff. We value teamwork and collaboration, and we are grateful that you are a part of the RMHC-SK Team!

Qualifications:

• Able to deal with the public, staff & other volunteers in a supportive, friendly and hospitable manner
• Ability to walk/stand for duration of shift
• Enthusiastic and willing to take initiative
• Be dependable, arriving on time as scheduled
• Keep a neat and clean appearance
• Able to pass a background check
• Provide two personal reference letters
• Must be 19 years or older
Responsibilities:
• Adhere to all RMHC-SK Procedures, Protocols and Policies as well as all hospital rules and codes of conduct including personal health guidelines.
• Maintain personal/professional boundaries with families, children and staff served
• Be responsible for cleaning/disinfecting and preparing cart before each session.
• Hand all snacks & other items from the cart to families to minimize contamination.
• Act as an ambassador of RMHC-SK within the hospital.
• Maintain statistics on all persons served.
• Provide excellent customer service at all times.

Training and Support
• General orientation and training will be provided through SHA and RMHC-SK
• Role specific training will be provided
• Continuing training and support will be offered to all volunteers.

Time Commitment:

• Weekly shift of 3 hours per week for a commitment of 6 months
